Beautiful Oblivion and Beautiful Illusions by Addison Moore Review and Spotlight

Beautiful Oblivion From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Addison Moore: Some people just don’t belong together, or at least that’s what the world would have them believe. It was supposed to be just for the summer… Reese Westfield comes from a world of old money, country clubs, cotillions, and expensive cars. She’s tired of dating Warren McCarthy just to make her father happy. Reese has long since had her eye on someone else, and this summer she’s determined to make it happen. Growing up in Lake Loveless there has always been a strict monetary divide—there was the rest of the Lake and then there were the Waterman’s. Ace Waterman has worked for everything he has, and he doesn’t have a lot. He breaks his back doing grunt work while putting himself through college. He’s used to life passing him by. Reese has loved Ace from afar for as long as she can remember. The summer of her freshman year she comes home with plans to land Ace in her bed at least for a few short weeks, and, if she’s lucky, forever. Ace has loved Reese for as long as he can remember, but their friendship has never graduated beyond platonic, so when Reese comes home from her first year away and proposes the two of them have a summer fling, Ace is quick to comply. The rules: no strings, no expectations, just something hotter than the sun to set the sheets on fire. But when their worlds collide, and neither of them is willing to admit to having true feelings, it becomes clear to Ace he’s nothing more than a dirty little secret—that the summer fling was just something meaningless to pass the time. Reese wonders if she can ever stop trying to please her father, and it’s only through her mother’s letters that she finds the answers she truly seeks, but will they be the ones she wants to hear? As summer draws to a close, Ace and Reese are still very much enraptured even though the time has come to douse the flame and move on—but neither one of them is prepared to leave this BEAUTIFUL OBLIVION.
My thoughts I truly loved this book. The author has a great ability to tell a sweet love story where you are routing for each and every character. I loved the dynamics that Reece and Ace had together. This is a book that has some sex in it but there is a very beautiful story that is being told. It was a book that I highly recommend to anyone that has a soft spot for true soul mates that overcome all odds to finally get together. Money is not the end all to all romances and when you finally find that one person to love money is never the answer. Plus having a character like Warren to hate makes it so much sweeter. I love how Addison Moore is able to complete the story without a dreaded cliffhanger. I also love how she was able to bring this story to life and have you wanting that HEA. I also love how she carried these fabulous characters into the second book Beautiful Illusions.
Beautiful Illusions Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you—in the most heartbreakingly beautiful way. Gavin’s story. I fell in love hard and fast as lightning. As quick as she came into my world she was gone. Demi said she has secrets—that she’s done horrible things. Who hasn’t? I’m not going to let the past determine our future. Sometimes love lays forever at your feet and sometimes you need to fight for it. Demi is worth every damn battle we’ll have to go through. I’d burn down the world just to keep her safe. And, after what I’ve discovered, I just might have to. All I need with Demi is one more night to convince her we’re worth it. And that one night is going to cost me everything.
My thoughts After reading Beautiful Oblivion I just knew that I needed this book. It definitely was a book you couldn't put down. I loved the reoccuring character of Gavin but I loved the addition of Demi. The things that we do in order to get back our lives is heartbreaking and a very emotional journey. Through a mistake meeting two people find themselves and through the course of a few moments you get that aha moment where you feel that you have found your soulmate. Although there are alot of different obsticles that one must experience makes that final step much more rewarding. I loved to see how one character from book one was a total smuck he was able to somewhat redeem himself and almost become human. I highly recommend this series to everyone. Cinderella finally meets her prince charming and he doesn't turn into a toad. He loves you unconditionally and makes you feel like you might actually deserve it even though there are things in your past that come back to haunt you. I was given a copy in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.
